RRS HA Long Lasting

What it is

RRS® HA Long Lasting is a sterile, resorbable dermal implant (class III, 93/42/EEC) from Skin Tech Pharma Group, Spain, with BDDE cross-linked hyaluronic acid in a protective amino-acid buffer with moisturising and antioxidant properties.

Mechanism of action

The hyaluronic acid is of biotechnological, non-animal origin. Cross-linking (BDDE) prolongs the duration of action in the skin, and the amino-acid buffer stabilises the hyaluronic acid.

Indications and treatment areas

Treatment of skin photo-ageing and its consequences, as well as dermal atrophy. Not to be injected into anatomically risky areas.

Treatment protocol

• Injection: deep dermis (bruising occurs less often when injected deeper than 1 mm). Needle sold separately; replace the needle if it clogs.
• Format: 1 × 3 ml syringe with traceability labels.
• Practitioner: legally authorised physician in an authorised clinic only, under aseptic conditions.

Expected results

Redness and local inflammation normally resolve within 12–24 hours; slight oedema or small bruises within 24–48 hours. Rare cases of abscess or granuloma have been reported for cross-linked HA. Avoid extreme temperatures, sun/UV and make-up for 12–24 hours after treatment.

Composition per 3 ml: BDDE cross-linked hyaluronic acid 21 mg (7 mg/ml, biotechnological non-animal); protective buffer (amino acids) 14.52 mg. 1 × 3 ml syringe with traceability labels.

Injected intradermally at 7 points per side of the face with a 27–30G needle. Massaged after injection for even distribution.
