Mastelli is a family-owned Italian pharmaceutical company founded in 1952 in Sanremo by Arnolfo Mastelli. The company has more than 70 years of experience in biological and dermatological products, and since the 1980s has specialised in polynucleotides (PN) and PDRN — molecules first identified by Dr. Oliviero Cattarini Mastelli and Dr. Maria Claudia Torlasco.
The result was Plinest® — the world's first and original polynucleotide injection, launched in 2005. The active ingredient is extracted from Italian trout DNA through the company's patented PN-HPT® (Polynucleotide High Purification Technology) — a purification process that ensures very high biocompatibility with human skin.
Today Mastelli is present in more than 40 countries, with the Plinest technology documented in more than 100 scientific publications. The entire production chain — from raw material selection to finished product — is controlled by Mastelli itself in Italy, under ISO-certified manufacturing and strict regulatory requirements as a Class III medical device.
PN-HPT® (Polynucleotide High Purification Technology) is Mastelli's patented purification process for extracting polynucleotides from Italian trout DNA. The process ensures a very high degree of purity and biocompatibility — the polynucleotides bind to the adenosine A2A receptors of the fibroblasts and stimulate production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, while also acting anti-inflammatory and promoting tissue repair. The concentration of PN-HPT® varies between the products in the range — from 7,5 mg/2ml in Plinest Eye to 20 mg/2ml in Plinest and Plinest One — matched to skin thickness and treatment area. Not all polynucleotides on the market are PN-HPT® — it is a Mastelli-exclusive, patented quality standard.

Plinest contains 20 mg/2ml PN-HPT® polynucleotides and is the original skin booster from Mastelli. Plinest Newest is a triple-active further development that combines PN-HPT®, non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid and mannitol in the same formulation, and additionally provides immediate hydration and antioxidant protection.
Plinest Eye is specially formulated with 7,5 mg/2ml PN-HPT® for the thin, sensitive periorbital skin around the eyes. It targets dark circles, puffiness and smile lines by stimulating fibroblast activity and cell renewal in this delicate area.
Plinest and Plinest One contain the same documented PN-HPT® formulation at 20 mg/2ml. The difference is the pack size: Plinest One comes in a larger 4 ml ampoule format intended for microneedling application, while standard Plinest comes in 2 ml syringes for traditional injection.
