Skin boosters · Four approaches to skin quality
Four popular skin boosters, four different hyaluronic acid technologies. Here we go through concentration, cross-linking, injection technique and which product suits which patient.
“Skin booster” is an umbrella term covering a broad range of hyaluronic acid-based injection treatments, from biostimulants to light formulations adapted for superficial injection. Concentration, molecular weight and degree of cross-linking determine how the product acts in the skin.
Profhilo and Dejale are non-cross-linked: Profhilo acts as a biostimulant, while Dejale is used for intradermal biorevitalisation. Restylane Vital is a light, non-cross-linked formulation adapted for microinjection. RRS HA Long Lasting is cross-linked with added amino acids for extended durability. None of them are fillers in the traditional sense — none of the four is intended to provide structural volume increase.
Ultra-pure hyaluronic acid without additives, built on IBSA's NAHYCO® Hybrid Technology. Spreads widely in the tissue and is released gradually to stimulate the fibroblasts.
Non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid of medium chain length (1.0–1.5 × 10⁶ Dalton) for intradermal biorevitalisation – not for volume filling. Initial course of three treatments one week apart.
A light, non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid formulation with lidocaine, adapted for superficial microinjection. Built on Galderma's NASHA® platform and supplied with the built-in Smart Click dosing system.
Cross-linked hyaluronic acid combined with a protective amino acid buffer that provides moisture, antioxidant protection and stabilises the gel for a longer duration of effect than the non-cross-linked alternatives.

Yes — many clinics build a layered treatment plan: Profhilo or Dejale over several sessions to build skin quality in the long term, supplemented with Restylane Vital or RRS HA Long Lasting for faster visible fullness and glow ahead of an occasion. None of the products compete directly — they cover different parts of the same treatment goal.
Note: the Dejale instructions for use (IFU) state that there are no clinical data for injection into areas already treated with another filler product. Combinations are planned according to the physician's assessment.
Profhilo is a biostimulant that uses non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid which stimulates the fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin themselves. Dejale is non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid for intradermal biorevitalisation. Traditional skin boosters such as Restylane Vital deliver moisture more directly through the water-binding capacity of hyaluronic acid itself. RRS HA Long Lasting uses cross-linked hyaluronic acid combined with amino acids for longer durability.
Cross-linking extends the lifespan of hyaluronic acid in the tissue, but also makes the gel more stable and less bioactive. Profhilo and Dejale are non-cross-linked, Profhilo deliberately so to maximise the biostimulating effect on the fibroblasts. RRS HA Long Lasting is cross-linked precisely to extend the duration of effect, while Restylane Vital uses a light, non-cross-linked formulation adapted for superficial microinjection.
RRS HA Long Lasting is named and formulated precisely for extended durability thanks to its cross-linking. Restylane Vital is documented with effect for up to 9 months with the right treatment series. Profhilo has, as a biostimulant, a more gradual, cumulative effect that builds up over several treatments, and Dejale is given as an initial course of three treatments one week apart (IFU).
Yes. Many clinics start with Profhilo or Dejale over several treatments to build skin quality over time, and supplement with Restylane Vital or RRS HA Long Lasting for faster visible fullness and glow. The Dejale instructions for use state that there are no clinical data for injection into areas already treated with another filler product, so combinations must be planned according to the physician's assessment.
Restylane Vital has a well-known, standardised injection technique with a built-in dosing system (Smart Click), which makes it accessible to practitioners who are new to skin boosters. Profhilo requires precise point placement (BAP technique) and somewhat more experience for an optimal result.
BC Nordic distributes Profhilo, Dejale, Restylane Vital and RRS HA Long Lasting to clinics in the Nordics, with fast delivery and professional support.
