Lumifil is a series of cross-linked hyaluronic acid fillers with lidocaine: L-Lite, L-Kiss and L-Max. The products are manufactured by BNC Korea and are CE-marked medical devices. BC Nordic (formerly Best Connection) is the exclusive distributor of Lumifil in the Nordics, with a contractual exclusivity.
The range
- L-Lite: correction of very thin, superficial lines. Injected into the upper dermis. 2 × 30G needles included.
- L-Kiss: correction of moderate wrinkles and restoration of volume in the face, including lip volume and lip shape. Injected into the middle dermis. 2 × 27G needles included.
- L-Max: correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds and age-related midface contour deficiencies. Injected into the deep dermis. 1 × 25G and 1 × 27G needle included.
All three contain 20 mg/ml hyaluronic acid and 3 mg/ml lidocaine hydrochloride, are for single use, and are intended for patients over 21. Read the manufacturer's instructions for use (IFU) before use.
Documentation on BDDE
According to the IFU, the hyaluronic acid is cross-linked with BDDE (1,4-butanediol diglycidyl ether). After production, residues of unreacted BDDE may remain. The manufacturer's specification for residual content is at most 2 ppm, and BDDE has not been detected in the analysis certificates from BNC Korea that we receive with every shipment. The certificates are issued by the manufacturer, not by an independent third party, and concern residual BDDE, not the cross-linked structure.
